Minutes of IEEE/LVS/SSCS/Executive Committee Planning Meeting

In Attendance:
Bob Peruzzi, Roger Minear, Paul Davis, Dale Nelson, Betty Nelson, Richard Booth and Glen Offord

The meeting was called to order by Bob Peruzzi.
Secretary's Report: 
The 11Sep2017 meeting minutes were approved as read.


Treasurer's Report:
Dale confirmed the $2K subsidy from International was credited to our SSCS section and maintained by LV IEEE treasurer, George Beam.  There was some concern that more than the allotted $500 for the Morton Contest was taken from our account.  Dale and Roger will generate a financial report which will be used to settle any money discrepancies with the LV IEEE treasurer.

Technical Talks:

*         Betty reported the scheduled 6Dec2017 lecture tour was held a week earlier because of scheduling conflicts.

*         February 6: Pietro Andreani's Distinguished Lecture on integrated RF Amplifiers will be held in STEP102 (building other side of street from Packard Lab)

*         Late February: Lehigh professor Siddha Pimputkar will talk on bulk single crystal GaAs growth

Lehigh University now requires a faculty member to be in attendance when its rooms are being used by outside organizations such as ours.  Bob researched and arranged for using the STEP building (near Packard) which does not have the faculty requirement.  To continue using Packard Lab, professors Doug Frey and Richard Decker will be contacted.

SSCS Outreach:
As we have some monies available, Bob asked the Executive Committee to explore ways to better meet the needs of present and future members.  A spring picnic was suggested.
