Revised Minutes of IEEE/LVS/SSCS/Executive Committee Planning Meeting 25Mar2014 - 6PM at Sammi?s Pizza, Wescosville, PA; revision has name change In Attendance: Robert Peruzzi, Roger Minear, Paul Davis, Dale Nelson, Betty Nelson, Robert Walden, Richard Booth, Luke Turgeon, and Glen Offord Dinner Dance: The Dinner Dance will be held 3May2014 at the Hellertown Silver Creek Country Club. Technical Talks: ? Luke Turgeon, President of Turgeon Engineering, will present his work on a high amperage current source (300A) - 22Apr2014 ? Distinguished Lecturer Kiran Gunnam will give a double presentation on 1May2014; the first talk starting at 5:30PM and the 2nd at 7:30PM. ? Distinguished Lecturer John Long?s talk arrangements to be finalized ? tentatively in October ? probably on ?wireless? inductor application; Action Item: Paul Davis to arrange ? Doug Lopata and Pete Bronner will be contacted for talks. Action items: Peruzzi to contact Lopata and Dale to contact Bronner. Morton Contest: The SSCS planning committee discussed our Morton participation and decided to take a passive financial sponsorship position in the Morton Contest. We will provide $500 with no strings attached to the Morton Paper Contest. Electronics/Manufacturing History Museum: The History Museum participation was discussed. We are currently not planning assistance for this effort. The Museum has had cost overruns, delays in opening, and its director has left. Background (not discussed this meeting): During our January planning meeting, Bob (Peruzzi) said there was a request for volunteers to help identify a truckload of Western Electric/Bell Laboratory artifacts and memorabilia intended for inclusion into a planned museum near Steel Stacks in South-Side Bethlehem. George Allerton, Austin Bleu, and Chuck Adomshick working with the LV IEEEE are heading this work. Treasurer Report: No formal treasure report this meeting. Planning Meeting Venue: New ownership of Sammi?s Pizza has instituted a room charge ($80) and if this cannot be negotiated away, a new venue for our next meeting will be arranged. Bob Peruzzi will contact Sammi?s and Glen Offord will investigate other possibilities. For the committee, Glen Offord, Secretary
