Syed Faisal Ahmed received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, in 1994, and an M.S. in Information Systems (with a certificate in Information Engineering) also from GMU in 1999. His interests include wide area networking communications protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS and RSVP. He is currently working in the area of satellite communications and terminal routers.
Ahmed works for Booz Allen Hamilton where his group consults for the government on wireless design, implementation and analysis of high speed network backbones. Currently, he holds professional certifications from Cisco Systems (CCNA and soon to be CCIP) and Juniper Networks (JNCIS). He chaired the Northern Virginia chapter of the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) for approximately two years and serves as Treasurer for the Northern Virginia chapter of the Communications Society.
