Mr. Mithun Banerjee has been an IEEE Member since 2000. He is a Senior Member
since 2010 and has served as Founding Chair of the GOLD Chapter for IEEE
Beaumont Section (2003 & 2004), Joint Chair for IEEE Oakland East Bay Section
(2005) & IEEE Santa Clara Valley Section (2005), Chair for IEEE Seattle Section
(2005, 2006 & 2007). He also served as a Secretary for IEEE Seattle Section
(Part of 2008).
In his Professional Career, Mr. Banerjee worked for companies like Microsoft,
Honeywell, Oracle, T-Mobile, Arbitron, US Department of Veteran Affairs, and
Iridium Communications. He was involved in research at the Indian Institute of
Science (IISc), Bangalore, India from 2000 to 2002. He worked as a
Project/Research Assistant in SERC (Super Computer Education & Research Centre)
Department & CAD Lab, ST-Microelectronics (Formerly SGS-Thomson) Research Lab, SERC (Super Computer Education & Research Centre) Department, Indian Institute
of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. He was also the Faculty of Engineering in
Electronics & Communication Department in Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology
under Bangalore University during 2002 & 2003 & supervised several Final Year
Projects.
He has 11 publications in IEEE International Conferences, Journals & other
publications.
He received Fellowship in HPC Asia 2002, 6th International Conference/Exhibition
on High Performance Computing on Dec.16th-19th 2002 in Bangalore, India,
organized by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Government of
India.
Mr. Banerjee was a Review Committee Member & also received Fellowship for Design
Convergence in System on Chip (SoC) Design, (VLSI Design 2003), The Sixteenth
International Conference on VLSI Design & The Second International Conference on
Embedded Systems Design on Jan 4th-8th 2003 in New Delhi, India.
He was selected as a Panelist for (i) National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate
Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Committee for the Year 2006 in Electrical
Engineering, (ii) Panelist for 2010 NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program
organized by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) & American
Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) & (iii) Panelist for 2010 National
Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) in Computer & Computational
Sciences organized by Department of Defense (DoD) & American Society for
Engineering Education (ASEE).
He was invited for Panelist for 2009 Summer Faculty Research Program
organized by Office of Naval Research (ONR) & American Society for Engineering
Education (ASEE).
He was also invited to seek his Feedback on 2011 National Science Foundation
(NSF) Merit Review Criteria (Merit Review Process is at the heart of NSF's
mission, and the Merit Review Criteria form the critical base for that process)
for National Science Board (NSB) due to recently enacted America COMPETES
Reauthorization Act.
Mr. Banerjee is an Active PMI Member with good standing & also
Director-of-Programs, PMI Baltimore Chapter, Hanover Site for the year of
2008-2009, 2009-2010 & 2010-2011(Partly). He was invited in 2010 by University
of Maryland Baltimore County's (UMBC) "Panel Discussion" as a PMI Panelist to
evaluate event and deliverables in the course that focuses on live Project
Management experience including working on a live project.
Mr. Banerjee's interview regarding the H1-B Visas was published in November 17,
2010, Computer World.
He received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in 2001 from Bangalore University
in Electronics & Communication & received his Master Degree in Electrical
Engineering in 2004 & recipients of Graduate Deans Scholarship & Vice Presidents
Scholarship from Lamar University in 2004, part of Texas State University
System, Texas. He was Assistant Student Advisor for Lamar Student Research
Organization (LSRO) in 2004.
