Society on Social Implications of Technology
The Pittsburgh Section formed a local chapter of the IEEE’s Society on Social Implications of Technology. The Scope of the society includes such issues as environmental, health and safety implications of technology; engineering ethics and professional responsibility; history of electro-technology; technical expertise and public policy; and social issues related to energy, information technology and telecommunications.
