Senior Member Drive
On Saturday, April 30th, the
Susquehanna Section will be holding a special
session to prepare recommendations for current, and even potential new,
members to become Senior Members
of the IEEE. To become a Senior Member, Basically, the following (from
the IEEE website) applies --
Senior Member is the highest grade for which IEEE members can apply. To
be
eligible for application, candidates must:
- be
engineers, scientists, educators, technical executives, or originators
in IEEE-designated fields;
- have experience
reflecting professional maturity;
- have
been in professional practice for at least ten years;
- show "significant
performance" over
a period of at least five of their years
in professional practice.
If
anyone in the Section would be interested in becoming such a Senior
Member, please contact Dr Sedig Agili and let him know of your
intentions. If at all possible, you should also plan on attending the
short session on April 30th at PSU Harrisburg to facilitate the Senior
Member application process. However, alternatives for applying can be
worked out with Dr Agili.
Both
an individual and the Section benefit from your becoming a Senior
Member. The Senior status always looks good on your RESUME and the
Section gets an enhanced rebate from the IEEE every year! This is
definitely a Win-Win.
