IEEE WIE Mission

The mission of IEEE WIE is to inspire, engage, encourage, and empower IEEE women worldwide.

Goals for 2009

Our goals this year are to Inspire, Engage, Encourage, and Empower:

• Girls to become Women in Engineering
• IEEE Women and Men to support our Affinity Group and our efforts, and
• Women and Men working in Engineering fields to join us

We plan to accomplish these goals by

• Having an Outreach program and working with Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in our area.
• Networking with IEEE members and non-IEEE members.
• Having a Membership program and providing incentives to new members for joining IEEE and WIE.
• Co-sponsoring events and working with other IEEE Societies and Affinity Groups.
• Updating our website.
• Holding meetings that are organized and fun.
• Holding technical meetings that showcase Women in Engineering roles.
• Having activities for all to enjoy.

Our theme this year is "Engineers just want to have fun"!!!
