ITER Fusion Energy Project

The section held a meeting on March 4, 2008, 2008. The speaker was IEEE Fellow and past IEEE-USA President Dr. Ned Sauthoff.  Dr. Sauthoff discussed an unprecedented international collaboration of scientists and engineers performing needed research and development and design of a burning plasma experiment called ITER (Latin for “the way”). The fusion power produced by ITER will be 10 times greater than the external power delivered to heat the plasma. Learn more about ITER at www.usiter.org.
