Dr. Jack Dongarra gave a talk titled ”An Overview of High Performance Computing and Challenges for the Future” at Rothchild Catering on Nov. 12, 2008. 
Dr. Dongarra is Director of the Innovative Computing Laboratory and Director of the Center for Information Technology Research. He holds an appointment as University Distinguished Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Electrical and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee and holds the title of Distinguished Research Staff in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Turing Fellow at Manchester University, and an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science Department at Rice University.
A special presentation was made to the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Tennessee Knoxville in recognition of the 85th anniversary of it’s establishment. In the photo below, Section Chair Terry Kurtz can be seen presenting the trophy to UT Student Branch Chair Nick Jones.
