Section members and guests gathered on June 5, 2007 for a picnic at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown at a great pavilion overlooking scenic Cherokee Lake. After the picnic, the group drove 2 miles to the National Weather Service office in Morristown for a tour of the facility. Meteorologist in Charge George Mathews and Science and Operations Officer David Hotz gave us presentations about their operation and a tour of their facility including demonstrations of their equipment.
