Mr. Walter E. Gregg, Jr. will present descriptions of the various types of electric drives that have supplied adjustable speed sources of power. The past includes most of the drives now in use as well as obsolete ones. The present describes drives being bought for use now. The future projects drives now being introduced to industry and what is expected to be developed.

Walter E. Gregg,Jr. attended Cornell University and has a degree in Electrical Engineering and is a Life Senior Member of the IEEE. His work experience includes: Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. Test Department; a Manufacturers Representative for the Dynamatic Division of Eaton Corp. at Gregg & Spohn in Cincinnati, Ohio and Gregg & Associates in Caldwell, N.J.; a Marketing Manager for Eaton Corp. Drives Division in Cleveland, Ohio; and Consultant for Charters of Virginia, Inc. in White Stone, VA.

Mr. Gregg has presented a number of papers including: Electric Drives in The Paper Industry to Paper Industry Managers Association; Constant Potential DC vs. Solid State Crane Control to American Iron & Steel Engineers; and Electric Drives Past, Present & Future to Industrial Seminar Jacksonville, FL.
