IEEE Consultant’s Affinity Group: Technological Advances in Harnessing Solar Energy

Date:

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Time:

Immediately after the March 9th EXCOM meeting (8:00 - 8:50 PM)

Abstract:

For centuries, civilizations have always used the sun’s energy directly, as well as indirectly to power the agriculture that supplies us with food, to cook and bake, to dry fruits and seeds for preservation and storage, and many other applications. In the 21st century, we have started to use solar energy more effectively, and it is likely that we will increase its use in the future in a wide spectrum of technologies to replace fossil fuel, and bio-fuel as well.
This presentation focuses on the new technological advances in harnessing solar energy effectively with high efficiency and low cost.
It presents solar energy as the viable alternative to all other energy sources.

Place:

Orlando Business Development Center, District 2 (affiliated with the UCF and the S.B.A.) at 3218 East Colonial Drive, Suite #G, Orlando, FL 32802
