Summary of May 16th Meeting
This is the eNotice I have submitted recapping last night's meeting.
The meeting went well last night, if you weren't there. We had between 16 and 20 members present.
Special Note for Mark - Barry said if you want to hear his presentation you will have to contact him after missing two years in a row.
For June's Meeting only - we will be meeting in the Dean's Conference Room - 108.
Also, an ExCom welcome to Dr. Bill Lovegrove who has volunteered as the PACE Chair.
Welcome to the New Year
The Piedmont Section ExCom, Executive Committee, met on January 22, 2013 and developed the following calendar for Piedmont Section 2013 Activities.
January - ExCom and Student Paper Competition (January 24 2013)
February - Joint Section and Clemson Student Branch Meeting - ECE Graduates and Employment
February 17 - 23, 2013 National Engineers Week
March - Financial Planning
April 4-7, 2013 - Southeastcon in Jacksonville, Florida
April 18,2013 - PIC Microcontroller Designs with Dr. Barry Keane
April 22, 2013 - Clemson ECE495 Senior Projects 1 Meeting at Clemson
April 24, 2013 - Clemson ECE496 Senior Projects 2 Meeting at Clemson
May - Personal Rapid Transport
June/July/August - Greenville Drive Baseball Game - Members and their families have a fun day at the ball park
November/December ECE495 and ECE496 Senior Projects at Clemson University
We also discussed having a cybercrimes meeting and a meeting/workshop on using microcontrollers/small computers such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi (yes Raspberry Pi).
Our monthly meetings are generally the 3rd Thursday of the month at CU-ICAR. We usually start at 6:30 PM with dinner ($10 members, $5 unemployed members) with the program starting at 7 PM. Watch future eNotices for more meeting details. Due to scheduling issues individual meetings maybe at different days, times and locations.
We are also working to having our technical meetings provide PDH (Professional Development Hours) credit.
