Next Meeting

February 4, 2010
Annual Student Paper Competition
Mark Stokes
Our annual student paper competition in preparation for SoutheastCon student paper competition will be this Thursday, February 4, 2010. Please come out and support our students in their pursuit of their careers.
We need volunteers for judging of the paper presentations. There is no need for technical expertise in the field of the paper as the majority of the presentation score is based on presentation style and presenter.

Dinner will be served in classic college style with various varieties of pizza and soda. Dinner is free for anyone that attends.
The meeting will take place at 100A Riggs Hall on the Clemson University campus.
Schedule:
6:30pm Dinner/Social ½ Hr.
7:00pm Presentations Start

The presentations and judging should be complete by just after 8pm. Please RSVP to one of the officers as soon as you know you’re able to attend. If you don’t know until the last minute, please come anyway!

For driving directions, please visit Clemson’s map page:

As always, we welcome suggestions on possible meeting topics. more...

Notes from the Chair

I hope everyone’s 2010 is off to a good start. We have several meetings and events planned for the first half of the year.

The Piedmont Section is looking for a volunteer to fill our vacant PACE, (Professional Activities Committees for Engineers) Chair position. PACE is a grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees organized at the section and chapter level in the United States with support from their respective regions and IEEE-USA. The goal of the PACE Network is to promote the professional interests of IEEE's U.S. members as well as provide a mechanism for communication of members' views on their professional needs. IEEE-USA's success is attributed largely in part to all the hard work put forth by volunteers from the PACE Network. If interested in volunteering for this position contact one of the Executive Committee members. more...
