General Information SoutheastCon is the annual IEEE Region 3 Technical, Professional, Student Conference established to bring Electrical and Computer Engineering Professionals, faculty and students together to share information through technical sessions, tutorials, and exhibits. It is the most influential outlet in Region 3 for promoting awareness of technical contributions made by our profession to the advancement of engineering science and society. Attendance and technical program participation from areas outside IEEE Region 3 are encouraged and welcomed. CALL FOR PAPERS (108K - pdf format): The program chair cordially invites interested authors from academic institutions and industry to submit original papers dealing with all aspects of electrical engineering topics. Papers should be submitted to Dr. John Gowdy, Technical Program Chair. Please download the accompanying PDF file for details (Adobe Acrobat Reader required). REGISTER ONLINE or download the accompanying PDF file (67K). CALL FOR TUTORIALS: Proposals are invited for organizing tutorials. Please send your proposal to Dr. John Gowdy, Technical Program Chair, by December 1, 2000. The proposal should include tutorial title, objective, description (200-500 words), length (half-day/full-day) and a one page vita of the lecturer. STUDENT JOB FAIR: The Job Fair is scheduled for Friday, March 30, 3:00PM – 8:00 PM to allow attendees :to make contact and discuss opportunities with exhibitor and sponsor companies. PROGRAM: (Please
note: there is a 15 person limit) The spouses' program will begin at 9:30 with a guided tour of the South Carolina Botanical Gardens and a visit to the Geology Museum. This will take approximately 2 hours. There will be a tour and lunch at Rocky Retreat Bed/Breakfast, which is a restored 150-year-old house outside of Historic Pendleton, South Carolina. This will be approximately 2 hours. Shopping in Historic Pendleton will complete the afternoon. The duration of this will depend on how long the participants would like to shop. CARING CLOWN program on Sunday morning at 9:00 in the hospitality room. Open to everyone.
