The South Carolina Council activities for 2004 has included the following:

• January 13, 2004, E-conference to discuss IEEE participation in the South Carolina Engineering and Surveyors Society (SCESS) annual seminar meeting in March at Aiken, SC. IEEE will provide speakers for two sessions of the seminar.
  
• Funding of participants from the council for Southeast Con 2004 was discussed and funding for two people was approved.
  
• A conference call with council members and the Region 3 Director was set for January 28, 2004, but subsequently had to be postponed due to a scheduling conflict.
  
• The Student Paper Contest for students from USC, Clemson and SC State was discussed and information requested from the schools sponsors. Clemson is the only school to respond to the request and will enter the papers in Southeast Con 2004.
• The next meeting of the SC Council will be at Southeast Con 2004, in Greensboro, on Friday evening of the conference.
