Minutes from EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING 12 February, 2003

The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. via e-conference. The attendees were Steve Carroll, Marilene Guardia-Baker, John Montague, Steve Carroll, Lee Stogner, and Brent Baker.

Meeting Schedule

Council meetings are open to all IEEE members. At a minimum, Council Officers and Section Chairs are expected. If you cannot attend, please send me your updates. Section Chairs may send an alternate attendee. Please make announcement of these meetings in your local section and chapter meetings and newsletters. The next meeting is:

May 4 @ 4:30 p.m. at Zorba’s restaurant

NEW BUSINESS

• Marilene suggested spending $1000 out of council account to send two students to Jamaica for SoutheastCon – Lee stated that he will find out from Jim Howard the funding requirements in order to do this – this will let the council know how many students it will be able to support for the conference
• An e-mail vote notice to all sections will be sent to determine whether or not the Council can spend money for SoutheastCon 2003
• There will be no state paper competition since only students from Clemson are involved in the contest
• Lee will attend SoutheastCon 2003 as the Region 3 membership chair
• Discussed obtaining membership numbers from council members for officer confirmation forms to be turned in to IEEE headquarters
• John M. has agreed to step in and serve as treasurer to implement the treasurer reports for 2002 activities
• Lee has volunteered to serve as the SC Council PACE representative and will go to Seattle for the PACE conference held there - Steve C. has volunteered to go to Seattle for the PACE conference as the PACE representative for the Columbia section
