1. SCCESS Meeting

• Steve will attend for Brent on August 24 th.

2. Administrative Items

• Brent will ensure the 2006 council roster has been submitted as John is still receiving Treasurer statements.

• Lee will post meetings minutes of the last meeting upon receipt from Richard.

• Jerry Clark was confirmed as Council Secretary.

• Nominations for Senior Member upgrades are due by November and were solicited by Brent.

• Brent will send a Council email report to Lee to post.

3. Membership Development

• Lee provided the following: In several weeks, a package will be sent to every Section in the world. In this package, there will be 2007 MD brochures and forms and for the first time a MD Users Manual.  This manual will have everything you need to do your job. We will be hosting monthly MD conf calls to help people. Societies are encouraged to host MD desks at their conferences and for 2007, the Regions are being asked to pick MD Chairs that don't mind telephone calling, emailing and selling MD. The ‘Member Get A Member’ program provides incentives to get new members one at a time.

4. IEEE Region III Meeting

• Steve will be attending in Atlanta 27-29 October.

5. Treasurer Update

• Account funds continue to grow, albeit slowly.

• John confirmed the 2005 L-50 was submitted.

6. Upcoming Meetings

• Area Section Chairs have a teleconference scheduled for 22 August at 12:00am.

• The next Council meeting will be at Zorba’s on Sunday, 8 October, 2006.
