(Mark S. seconded motion)
BYLAWS
Amendments to the proposed bylaws were made by John Montague and they
are as follows:

representative on the Nominations Committee
Article VI, Section
3 – amend to require at least 2 nominations for Chair position. Request,
but not require, at least 2 nominations for other officers
Motion was made to

NEW BUSINESS
Employment assistance program (Lee Stogner reporting)
- Have currently
collected 20 responses to employment survey
- Have begun
a series of activities to help the membership, starting with LeEarl’s
letter to Congress to highlight the issue
- Will host Employment
Summit in the fall to communicate employment issues to a broader
audience
- Career Services
group under the leadership of Bob Adams is releasing new materials
that can be used by individuals and Sections to help members find
jobs
- Lee is in the
process of trying to get the PACE network to conduct employment-based
M-PACs as a means of bringing these materials to people (M-PACs
consist of several speakers at several section meetings or possibly
a Saturday morning or a day devoted to organized delivery of material
that benefits the member(s) – materials are cheap/free – it just
takes people willing to help organize it - Region 3 PACE will help)
- Have proposed
holding M-PACs at two places on consecutive days (at different Sections,
excluding the Coastal Section) – will need volunteers to
help with this
CHAPTER PETITION
John Montague
reported that nothing has been done towards the creation of a Chapter

are to be returned after September section meetings
There have been
only six signatures so far that will go towards the creation of a
Technical Chapter for South Carolina
