·         Attendees: Lee Stogner, Allen Thomas, Wayne Cochrell, David Mills, Mark Stokes, Patricia Davis, Brent Baker

·         Discussed events occurring at different sections:

·       Piedmont – student paper contest, ICAR (Int. Center for Automotive Research) meetings, and joint meetings w/ Chemical & Industrial Engineers

·       Central Savannah – added a few senior members, have signed petition for Industry Application Society

·       Columbia – conducting monthly meetings

·       Coastal – no report

New Business

·         Lee discussed need for new members due to fact that overall membership for IEEE is dropping

·         Lee is running for Region 3 director

·         Allen needs help finding contacts at companies to help in gathering information concerning engineering positions and opportunities

·         Approved by Council to send Steve Carroll a memorial fund ($50) for his wife Linda – John Montague is to send check

·         Need to contact John Montague regarding L50 report to determine if it has been completed and turned in.  (L50 report has been filed. SGC)

·         Next face-to-face meeting is set for October 9^th at 4:30 p.m. at Zorba’s – need to possibly set up a meeting before then via e-conference.
