December 2004
1. As requested, we are using a teleconference to conduct this meeting. We will need feedback on it's relative merit and any lessons learned. I would like each of the participants to provide any comments, pro or con, prior to the next meeting.
2. The use of eNotice vice the Listserv to distribute section wide mailings has been very favorably recieved by everyone who has tried it. Listserv still has a purpose, for example the Virginia Council list, however for large mailings the eNotice a better choice.
3. The Region 3 communications committee continues to work on improving the Communications committee standard operating procedures. Anyone who would like to help is invited to our meetings. The next meeting will be held 15 December at 9:00 PM on irc:#r3commm. You can also chat with members of the committee almost anytime at #r3collab.
4. I still have not received a response to my request for a private folder. I will continue to pursue this. I believe we will have a number of items that might need it in our SoutheastCon preparation.
5. The IEEE Virtual Communities will be moving to IEEE Web Accounts on 15 December. As a reminder the " Section-Chapter Volunteer Forum " is an excellent resource and should be considered by every member of the Council.
6. The Twiki site really saves me time, but I know it is one more thing to learn for many of you. I am satisfied with it, but any feed back from your point of view will be appreciated.
