1. Current.

Most of the information that follows should be a repeat for most of you however it is information that should be distributed about concerning membership.

a. Attended the Region 3 EXCOM in October.

b. Co-sponsored a Professional Development Symposium with NSBE and SWE in November at Old Dominion University's Graduate Center. Distributed membership information to several of the attendees. There were approximately 20 attendees. I signed on one new member and one returning member.

c. Missed Region 3 MDC e-conferencing the past few months.

2. Future.

Will be participating at two events during EWeek in February and one in March/April:

a. NASA Langley's Career Day [February 23-24]. The focus is to introduce high school students to the various engineering and science disciplines. The Hampton Roads Section will be present.

b. Old Dominion University Engineering Open House [February 25-26].

c. ODU Womengineering Day. The focus is to introduce middle school girls, teachers, and parents to engineering and the available support from each professional society. A side will be to encourage ODU undergraduates to join up.

3. Membership Totals.

Changes to membership totals since the last reported period (active/total):

Notes:

a. All sections have fewer members as compared to this time last year.

b. Most of the changes for each section, except Richmond, is can be attributed to increase in student members. An average of 46 new student members were added to each section.

c. Richmond increases are split between members and affiliate members.

d. Central VA member (M) numbers dropped from 362 to 258 then back to 359 since the beginning of October.

e. The number of senior members (SM) increased by 10 since September.
