David Geer received the BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY and has done graduate study at Illinois Tech, Arizona State, and Virginia Tech. He has held various engineering and supervisory positions with General Electric in Chicago, Phoenix, and Schenectady, NY. He is now retired from GE Industrial Systems in Salem, VA where he was responsible for the development of mathematical models for process automation in the steel industry.
Geer, a licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, is the past chairman of the Virginia Mountain Section joint Chapter of the Computer, Control Systems, and Industrial Electronics Societies. He has also served as the VMS membership chairman, as a member of the VMS Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Virginia Council and a member of the Region 3 Executive Committee.
He is currently a member of the IEEE Virginia Mountain Section Executive Commitee, and VMS webmaster.
