Generator Paralleling Concepts


First Robotics teams are competing again this weekend. Because it is Easter, the competition is Friday and Saturday. this is the Central VA event. There will be live streaming at the event on Friday & Saturday. Salem HS Spartans will not be there, but James River Knights will, team #3939.

Senerator Paralleling Concepts & Implementation
This talk introduces generator paralleling and the basic concepts of paralleling engine-generators to form larger power systems. It Emphasizes paralleling controls for load sharing (real and reactive power), synchronization and protection of paralleled systems. Control integration, elimination of serial reliability paths and the advantages of parallel power systems over traditional single engine-generator solutions are also discussed.


Will Vagts is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Economics. He has 7 years of experience
in electrical distribution with a focus in commercial and industrial construction.

Will is a member of the New Generation Blue Ridge Rotary Club as well as WRABA (Williamson Road Area Business Association, Inc.).

Lee Newton, Vice President of Sales specilaizes in large kW generator units out of our Richmond, VA location. Lee is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has an MBA from the University of Richmond. In addition to his various professional accomplishments, he has a black belt in martial arts.
