FindItNow: Software for the Media Industry

February 16, 2010

Aaron Frerichs and David Lenzen will present a case study about a new online directory product recently launched by Planet Discover. The product, www.finditnow.com, is a next generation online business directory product that incorporates social media capabilities and other robust user generated content features. In addition, FindItNow has integrated advertising and reporting functionality that allows Planet Discover partners to monetize this product.

A comprehensive, technology-focused demonstration will look at this new product from three dimensions—site publishers/managers, end-users and advertisers—as well as the programming languages (Ruby on Rails and Sphynx, in particular) and project management techniques used to develop this product.
