Request for Locating Technical Experts
A message from Ashutosh Dutta and Bill Gorder of IEEE Region 4:
In addition to being a Region 1 volunteer and Section Chair for IEEE Princeton/Central Jersey Section, I have been participating in IEEE Communication Society's visibility committee. IEEE Communication Society Visibility Committee headed by Shri Goyal and Steve Weinstein is chartered to help IEEE Public Visibility Committee. As you may know IEEE Visibility Committee recently issued the following statement in August 2009 issue of IEEE MGA SCOOP and have advised the section chairs to put it in the website.
Positioning Statement: "IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted voice for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe."
Recently, IEEE ComSoc's visibility committee has been approached by the IEEE Visibility Committee to help identify the experts in key technology areas. As a member of this committee, I have volunteered to collect the names of experts in different technical areas all over the world. Thus, I am reaching out to all the region directors who can pass this request to their section chairs who are probably in the best situation to help identify the key experts in the respective area. I am attaching an excel spread sheet. I would highly appreciate if you could pass on to the section chairs and other chapter chairs within your region who can fill out the key experts in those categories in their section and send it to back to me at ashutosh.dutta@ieee.org at their earliest convenience. I am sure you help will go a long way to enhance IEEE's public visibility. Looking forward to your comments, cooperation and help in this matter.
