Mr. Firestone is a Senior Project Manager with Patrick Engineering. He has more than 14 years of experience as an electrical engineer. He has been responsible for electrical design, coordination, computations, and project management associated with power generation, transmission, distribution, and in-plant control and communication systems. Specific engineering responsibilities have included overall project management, one-line power diagrams, control schematic diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams, review of manufacturer submittals, power system calculations, preparation of contract documents, bid analysis and witnessing factory tests. He has conducted many arc flash protection studies for multiple clients. Arc flash is an issue because of the impacts on personnel safety, equipment performance, and insurance costs. Mr. Firestone will discuss current standards, arc flash calculations, and other issues to consider such as labeling and personal protective equipment requirements. |
