Oak Creek Expansion Project - 1200 MW Coal Fueled Generating Station

As part of Wisconsin Energy's Power the Future Program a 1200 MW coal fueled generating station is under construction in Oak Creek, Wisconsin at the site of the Oak Creek Power Plant. The project highlights include: supercritical boilers, the latest in Air Quality Control Systems, a water intake tunnel under Lake Michigan, integration of a new and existing control system, a plant wide Distributed Control System integrated with numerous PLC's, and an expanded 345 kV switchyard. Learn about the project, the challenges facing construction and the multiple critical paths to completing the first unit by the summer of 2009.

Bob Tutkowski, Vice President

Bob Tutkowski attended UW-Milwaukee and graduated in 1986 with a BSEE. He began his engineering career with Wisconsin Electric as a co-op electrical engineer in 1985. His career advanced via the engineering path while working on assignments at the Valley, Pleasant Prairie, Presque Isle, and Oak Creek power plants. In the 1990s and early 2000s Bob worked as a Project Manager on several projects including: the Oak Creek Power Plant (OCPP) bituminous to sub-bituminous coal conversion, the OCPP NOx reduction projects and the Pleasant Prairie data acquisition system replacement. In March 2002, Bob joined We Power as the Project Manager for the proposed coal fired Elm Road Generating Station. In November 2004, Bob assumed the role of Vice President for Elm Road Services, LLC, the construction agent for the Elm Road Generating Station.
