We are the Southeastern Michigan local joint chapter of two IEEE Societies, the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society, and the IEEE Communcations Society. The AES Society is concerned with total integrated electronic systems and the enabling technologies. IEEE Communications Society is a community comprised of a diverse group of industry professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. We are one of several dozen IEEE societies. For information about our technical meetings and workshops, see our meetings page. For sponsor information, see our sponsors page. AES Society and Communcations Society maintain local chapters in dozens of cities around the world. These local chapters host meetings, seminars, and workshops on management topics throughout the year. For a complete list of chapters, visit the Society web site, or the ComSoc web site. Detroit is the major city in Southeastern Michigan. However, the IEEE chapter covers ten counties in southeastern Michigan and Ontario.
Major cities include: Windsor, Ontario; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Lansing, Michigan which is the State Capitol. We are the only U.S.A. IEEE Section that extends outside the U.S. |
Universities

We are home to many colleges and universities. Ten of them have engineering programs and sponsor IEEE student branches.
