Prospective members usually ask the question: "What is it like to attend a typical seminar?" We have several different types of meetings and seminars throughout the year. Here is a description of each kind of event.
Our regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of February, June, August, and December.
We typically have about 10 or so members attend and we have a speaker on a wide variety of topics.
We don't charge an attendance fee, and the meeting is sponsored solely by the IEEE chapter.
We always have light refreshments.
Registration is not necessary but is encouraged so we can have an accurate food count.
Sometimes we hold special workshops during the year on various topics of interest that require
time than we can cover in our regular meetings. The workshops can be half a day or a full day. The price
usually includes lunch. Members and their guests are welcome to attend, as are prospective members,
engineers, managers, technical professionals, and engineering students. Check the schedule for the next
workshop. We host many of our workshops jointly with other
ESD Affiliate Council engineering societies.
See the
schedule below.
We strive to make sure that information presented by speakers is not of a commercial nature.
The IEEE Engineering Management Society also holds yearly conferences. Information about these is available on the
Society web site.
IEEE members and their guests are welcome to attend our events, as are prospective members, engineers,
managers, technical professionals, and engineering students.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the event planning. Contact Us if you are interested in helping out.
