| The Black Hills Subsection serves IEEE
members in the western South Dakota, northeastern Wyoming,
and northwestern Nebraska
portion of
IEEE Region 5. The subsection reports to the IEEE Denver Section,
as does the IEEE
Centennial Subsection, directly to our south. Most of
the members of the Black Hills Subsection live in the two
major population centers in the area, Rapid City, SD and
Gillette, WY. The membership is quite diverse, ranging from
members active in the mining industry in NE Wyoming to
professors in the Electrical Engineering and Math and
Computer Science Departments at the
South Dakota School of Mines
and Technology; South Dakota's technical university. |
