R5 Individual Outstanding Achievement Award.

Ernest Franke, of the Central Texas Section, was awarded the Individual Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2008 Region 5 Meeting. Dr. Franke identified and implemented a process for upgrading IEEE qualified members to the senior grade. This program has resulted in successful upgrades throughout the region and the IEEE and his process is cited on the Senior Member Home Page in the Best Practices for Sections and Chapters. Acknowledgement of his contribution is long overdue.
