Abstract:
IDS monitor network traffic and issue alerts when anomalous usage is detected. This presentation will discuss the how these systems operate, methods hackers use to try and evade them, and tools to test their capabilities.

Speaker Bio:
Charles Poff is a security consultant with Bear Point where he evaluates security systems and their applications. He previously worked at Tipping Point, a security appliance vendor recently acquired by 3COM. Charles graduated with a Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems from St. Edwards University.
