Abstract: With the growth of wireless communications more and more commercial companies find themselves having to measure the performance of the antennas that they use in their designs. this presentation starts with background information on antennas and RF absorber. a survey of antenna pattern measurement ranges is presented concentrating on rectangular direct illumination chambers. Finally a case study is introduced to bring together all the information.

Speaker Bio:  Vicente Rodriguez is Sr. Principal Antenna Engineer with ETS-Lindgren (formerly EMC Test Systems) where he is in charge of the development of new antennas for different applications and on improving the existing antenna line. Among the antennas developed by Dr. Rodriguez are new broadband double and quad-ridged guide horns with single lobe pattern and high field generator horns for the automotive industry. Dr. Rodríguez was previously a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He earned a Masters of Science and Doctorate in the area of Engineering Science with emphasis on Electromagnetic Theory from the University of Mississippi
