Principal Engineer/Project Manager

Stellar Micro Devices seeks a full-time Principal Engineer/Project Manager to lead an advanced development project in the area of vacuum microelectronic terahertz sources. SMD is a successful small company which has developed a number of innovations in micro vacuum electronic devices (MVEDs), electronic radiation sources, ion sources and vacuum micropackages. Our subsidiary Stellarray, Inc. is developing a new type of flat panel X-ray source for isotope source replacement and digital imaging, particularly medical imaging.

The PE will direct a team of SMD fabrication technicians and partners at universities and other companies to develop an ambitious device for terahertz imaging, spectroscopy and security systems. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and qualities:

An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field;
A record of successful development of devices such as MEMS, optical MEMS, microwave power devices, high power semiconductor devices, vacuum microelectronic devices, or systems using these devices;
Broad familiarity with micro-fabrication processes for photolithography, thin-film deposition, etch, packaging and test;
Hands-on experience in one or more of these micro-fabrication processes;
Self-motivated, creative problem-solving under tight schedules with mostly used equipment;
Familiarity with intellectual property rules and strategies; and
Superior oral and written communication skills.

The job will be full-time, require some light travel, and be both hands-on (you may lay out your own photomasks) and managerial (you will be responsible for integrating the work of other contributors from diverse areas such as the modeling of e-beam/RF wave interactions). Specific experience with MVEDs, vacuum micro/nano-electronics, high frequency RF or THz devices or components will be a plus. The best experience will be to have seen such a device through from concept to production.

Electrical Engineer

Our prominent client in Houston is seeking an Electrical Engineer with Texas P.E. license and at least seven (7) years experience. The candidate must have a BSEE from an accredited college or University. A background in power, utilities, construction and oil & gas is preferred. Candidate will coordinate project management activities for electrical infrastructure, Mechanized cargo handling equipment and energy end-use projects. Develops project documents that include scope of work, plans, specifications, contracts, reports and internal/external correspondence for electrical infrastructure, mechanized cargo handling equipment and energy end-use.Employees receive generous compensation and benefits, a secure and pleasant work environment, less than 10% travel.
