About the IEEE
The IEEE (Eye-triple-E) is a
non-profit, technical professional association of more than 377,000 individual
members in 150 countries. The full name is the Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is most popularly known
and referred to by the letters I-E-E-E. Through its members, the IEEE is a
leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering,
biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and
consumer electronics, among others.
IEEE-USA
IEEE-USA is an organizational unit of The Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers created 1973 promote career and public-policy interests of
the more than 235,000 electrical, electronics, computer, and software engineers
who are U.S. members of the IEEE. The IEEE is the world's largest technical

IEEE-Wichita Section INFO.
The Wichita Section of IEEE encompasses three fourths of the state of Kansas
with most of the members located in the Wichita area. Other areas of member
concentration are Salina, Hutchinson and Great Bend. Manhattan, Topeka and
Pittsburgh are located in the Kansas City Section. There are two student
branches in the Wichita Section, Wichita State University (WSU) and Kansas State
University, College of Technology at Salina. The Wichita Section has an
active membership of 375 members while the Wichita area has about 264 of the
members of member grade or higher and about 75 student members . Salina has
about 50 members and about 15 student members.
