June Activity

June 22, 2008
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $35, and bring your own lunch

Agenda
We'll join a group of Sandians, including GOLD member and experienced rafter Marlene Brown, at Sandia National Labs for a trip to the Racecourse. This is our most popular trip.

According to www.newwaverafting.com/racecourse, this is "five miles of moderate whitewater (Class 3/Moderate, Class 4/Difficult, in high water), perfect for beginners. Minimum age is 6 (minimum age higher in high water)."

The group leaves from Sandia and returns there. Marlene can usher up to three cars into the lab property, but we'll have to meet somewhere close just before going in.

The sign up (and pay) is on a first-come, first-served basis, so we need to know ASAP who's going. The group can accommodate up to 30 people. If you want to go, send an e-mail to Simon (sbarriga@ieee.org) and be prepared to pay (IEEE cannot cover any of cost because of the nature of the activity, and everone who goes does so at his/her own risk). And be prepared to have some fun.
