Student Activities

There are four schools within the IEEE CLAS region: UCLA, Cal State University Long Beach, Loyola Marymount University and Devry University Long Beach. CLAS provides organizational and financial support to its area schools. The CLAS Student Activities Chair for 2009 is Tim Lee. Tim is currently an Adcom officer in the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) and was previously CLAS MTT-S Chapter Chair. He can reached at tt.lee@ieee.org

Latest News: Eta Kappa Nu has merged into IEEE, making it the official Honors Society of IEEE. The organizational change will take effect by mid 2009.

UCLA

The student branch at the University of California, Los Angeles is well established and sponsors several technical and social events each year. We currently are one of the largest student organizations on campus with over 300 student members. The Electrical Engineering Department provides an office for the student branch. The office is equipped with work benches with oscilloscope, function generators, digital meters, soldering stations, breadboards and other electronic components.

Cal State University Long Beach

The IEEE Chapter at the California State University Long Beach actively conducts events that help the Electrical Engineering students participate in Industry while at school.

The IEEE Chapter also sells lab kits to students and is currently managed by set of students under the guidence of professors from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
