Cal Poly TI Microcontroller Workshop

February 14, 2009

The MSP 430 workshop event organized by the Cal Poly Pomona IEEE Student Branch club on Saturday, February 14, 2009 was very successful. We were able to encourage 16 participants to join us and everyone eager to learn how to use the MSP 430 ez430-f2013 although it is weekend and Valentine's Day.  The event started at ten minutes after 10 AM. It started with Dr. Rajan Chandra introducing the features of the MSP 430 family and basic instructions of ez430-f2013. We are grateful for Dr. Chandra assisting us with this event. After that, we started the hands on part of the workshop and distributed the MSP 430 ez430-f2013 donated by the Texas Instrument. We are very thankful for their donations; it helps our student club raise our funds. Dr. Chandra prepared the laboratory for participants to do.  Everyone was able to learn to debug the code into MSP 430 ez430-f2013.

The laboratory that participants do includes the following:

-          Simple Input and Output

-          Output Control Using Dip Switch

-          BCD Counter Design

-          Traffic Light Controller

-          Analog to Digital Converter

Thanks to all the student officers that helped and to all participants that joined us in this workshop.
