IEEE-USA News and Important Information

Experienced engineers as well as recent engineering graduates are having considerable difficulty finding employment during the current economic conditions.  The Foothill Section is willing help sponsor career activities such as job fairs, resume writing and interviewing skills workshops to help its members.  To help us assess how much of a problem engineering unemployment is in our section's geographical area we encourage the use of our feedback form for comments.  Any input regarding services we should consider providing for our members would be appreciated.

Career assistance information from the IEEE-USA is available at http://www.ieeeusa.org/careers/help/

The H1-B visa program is considered a major contributor to the unemployment  of many IEEE members.  Recent IEEE commentary on this subject is presented on our web page: Foothill H1-B.  Foothill Section members are encouraged to express their position on this subject with their elected representatives as well as providing input to the Foothill feedback form. For additional IEEE news and positions on the H1-B and other important issues please review the information published in the Institute and at: http://www.ieeeusa.org/forum/issues/H1bvisa/index.html
