Foothill Section Meetings:

Executive Committee (EXCOM) meeting are typically scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at the International House of Pancakes, Group Meeting Room, 80 N. Euclid Ave., Upland CA. Section meetings presenting specific topics of interest to members will be held at various dates throughout the year.  Please consult the Foothill Chairman's topics above for updates on all meeting announcements and events.

Training Opportunity - Solid Works

Here is information on a career advancement step that some of our Foothill IEEE members may want to take advantage of. This involves a free 90 day software license ( non-commercial) and on-line support to help you learn Solidworks 3D CAD design. If someone has the time to do this during a slow time at work, or is between jobs, we recommend taking a visit to the following websites:
 

EM Research Grants

Note received from Prof Kelley of the Antennas & Propagation Society about new funded research grants for students in the Electromagnetics field . There are separate award catagories for undergraduate and master's candidates, and different awards and criteria for doctoral candidates. The next deadline for submittal is November 1, 2009. Completion of one of these grant projects will give the student a significant boost in the Electromagnetics field.
