The March IEEE-IAS Las Vegas Chapter meeting will be held on March 16, 2010.   Mr. Jay Herman, Westin Engineering, Inc., will be giving a presentation on: "Wireless Remote Site Communications Design Methodology ".  The meeting will be held at the Las Vegas Valley Water District.  Lunch is at 11:30 and the presentation will be from 12:00 to 1:00pm.   Schlotzsky's lunch will be available for $10.  Please RSVP to BNeal@BrwnCald.com or Sarge.Benson@lvvwd.com if you are planning to attend and let us know if you will be having lunch.  One professional development hour will be available for attending.  

Mr. Herman earned a BS in Engineering from UNLV and MS In Telecommunications from University of Colorado Boulder and is a Licensed Profession Engineer in Nevada and a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). He has more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications with a background that includes microwave, UHF, and VHF radio systems; SONET networks; fiber optic systems; DC power equipment; and voice/data communications. He has actively participated in many phases of project implementation including specification writing, system design, submittal review, and field testing.  Mr. Herman has extensive experience with outside plant design of fiber optic communications in both underground and overhead environments, including fiber optic additions to high voltage electrical transmission lines. Mr. Herman has been with Westin Engineering in Las Vegas for 10 years.
