MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the OCEN is to provide a networking forum for Entrepreneurs, Inventors, Innovators, Businesspersons and others who are interested in pursuing new business start-ups, entrepreneurial endeavors or participating in them.  The group’s focus is primarily on: new business and product concepts, emerging high-tech and small business ventures, but, will be driven by expressed member needs. 

The OCEN achieves these goals with regularly scheduled meetings, to include the following formats:

• Networking Opportunities – facilitate the connectivity of like-minded people, and introductions to people with complementary skills and talents
• Invited Guest (Expert) Presentations -

• “Expert Panel” meetings -
• Business “Idea Forums” – to evaluate/advise presenters on technical &/or business issues/approaches and ideas.  For more click on BIFs.

In the future, the OCEN plans to provide improved member connectivity and entrepreneurial perspective via evolving organizational improvement and supporting web features.  We will also adapt our meeting formats and locations to best suit the subject, speakers and audience.

New Business Idea Forums (BIFs)

The OCEN's "New Business IDEA FORUM” employs a public peer review system designed to benefit both the presenter and the audience. The BIFs provide a structured format for efficient brainstorming of new business concepts. The BIF’s business idea maturity level niche lies between a crude one-page business plan and the formal Venture Forums conducted by other organizations. Presentations need not focus on all aspects of the business plan, but may emphasize issues where the Presenter seeks advice.
