IEEE: Palouse Section IDEA BOX
IEEE is a volunteer-service organization comprised of highly skilled electrical & computer engineers. Its power is derived from volunteer ideas and volunteer efforts to fulfill them. IEEE has very few full-time employees, so most good comes from skilled volunteers (like yourself).
Below we will list ideas and discussion of ways IEEE could benefit its members and the world; please send in your ideas or variations & refinements of what you see here. Rate them according to value, and then contact an officer to let them know if you have ability and a few hours per month to make one of them come true.
The reward will be vary, but it includes rubbing shoulders with other brilliant folks who want to make a difference.
• Tutoring time for IEEE members and kids
• Hands-on Workshops for getting started: soldering, FPGAs, antenna design, AutoCAD, interviewing, Ham radio, career direction, robotics, component thermal simulations, LabVIEW automation software, Linux
• Online video library of past section discussions
• Local teen inventor contests (here are some parts & kits: what can you create in an hour with a mentor?)
• Palouse Science Center "Exhibit developers team"
