The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is seeking a qualified computer science or engineering student for a paid Information Technology internship. The primary duties of the internship will be creating new and modifying existing custom databases and applications. Secondary responsibilities will include general information technology support. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of MS Windows and the MS Office Suite. Skills required include VBA, C#, MS SQL 2008 and web development on a Windows platform using HTML, JavaScript, ASP, and .NET. Experience working with ESRI GIS, Microsoft SharePoint, or Microsoft Silverlight products is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills are also desirable. Senior or graduate student with demonstrated programming ability preferred as internship will focus on needs assessment and related implementation.
Approximately 20 hour per week. Length of internship will be determined based on candidate’s preferences, qualifications and performance.
DeVry University is currently accepting applications for independent contractors to teach C++. Requirements are a Master's Degree, detailed knowledge of C++ syntax, and preferably teaching experience. Classes run from Apr 26 - June 18, but the teacher must complete a 3 week training course in "How to Teach a Blended Course" prior to the class start. The course is one onsite day (9-4) and two weeks of online instruction and interaction. The class schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 9-11 each day. An additional 2 hours is taught online (thus the Blended Training Course). The course is COMP122, Structured Programming, and it is the first programming class for Engineering Technologists.
