This discussion will focus on issues around the installation of photovoltaics from an engineering perspective.

About the Speaker

Mark C. Skidmore

Currently Vice President of Engineering for American Solar Electric, Inc. Mr. Skidmore has been involved in with various renewable technologies since 2000.  In late 2003 he made the commitment to photovoltaic’s by joining American Solar Electric Inc.  With American Solar Mr. Skidmore has managed every phase of solar electric projects from technical support for initial sales through design and installation. Mr. Skidmore currently manages Engineering, Permitting, and Customer Service for ASE.  Along with his current management duties, Mr. Skidmore has worked closely with Siemens and Cutler Hammer to develop market driven electrical products for the solar industry as well as interconnection standards for the specialized connection of PV systems.  Prior to joining the solar industry, Mr. Skidmore worked in the plumbing and irrigation industry designing and servicing commercial irrigation systems in Southern Florida.  Mr. Skidmore holds a BSME from Arizona State University, and is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer.  He is affiliated with the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), as well as the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and has earned the designation of Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) Most recently; Mr. Skidmore was honored by Construction Specifying Engineer as one of its “40 under Forty”.
