DECEMBER '05 NANOTECHNOLOGY LUNCH SEMINAR
(1) Subject : Nanotechnology in Portable Energy Products and Global Competition
Global demand for portable energy or battery technologies continue to grow, with the capabilities of mobile devices, PDA and Hybrid Vehicle and etc. However the performance characteristics of existing battery or portable energy material still fall short of the power demands of applications due to enhanced features. The challenge will be to develop breakthrough nano materials that meet the price and performance demanded by the consumers and auto sectors.
(2) Subject : Nanotech/Advanced technology collaboration with Switzerland
Swissnex - The Swiss Science and Technology Office in San Francisco helps connect it's partners, sponsors, and individuals for exchanging knowledge and collaboration in the areas of research, education, technology, and innovation.

Mr. Michael Pak, Chief Executive Officer & Founder, NanoExa, Corporation
Michael has 15 years experience in Nanotechnology, Clean Energy, Telecommunication, Semiconductor and Consumer Electronics. He is currently CEO & Founder of NanoExa Corporation which is a Nano start up company initially focused on portable energy products. Prior to NanoExa, he was CEO & Co-founder of Nanostellar and Xpeed Networks. He has successfully built and led the team through Series B funding or IPO filing with top VCs as investors. He received a BS in Engineering Science from Harvard College.
Ms. Birgit Woetzl, Swissnex, part of Swiss Consulate
On board Swissnex since December '2, Birgit engages to build and maintain a network with academia, corporations, and organizations. Prior to Swissnex, in the field of Nanotechnology, Birgit helped organize deal-flow conferences for NanoSIG. Prior to coming to USA, she handled a range of marketing responsibilities at IBM in Vienna, Austria. Birgit has earned a Masters degree in Business from the University of Vienna.
