US Congressman Honda on Government support for Nanotechnology in Silicon Valley

Biography:

Mike Honda represents the 15th Congressional District of California at the US House of Representatives, which encompasses Silicon Valley.  While a member of California Assembly, Mike was named "High-Tech Legislator of the Year" by the American Electronics Association.  Mike serves on the House Committee on Science and on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  Mike and Sherwood Boehlert co-authored the Nanotechnology Research and Development Act of 2003, which was signed by President Bush on December 3, 2003 as the "21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act", that allocated $3.8 Billion over the next four years to Nanotechnology R & D.

 

 

About IEEE SF Bay Area Nanotechnology Council:

The IEEE SF Bay Area Nanotechnology Council was organized about one year ago and focuses on opportunities for the EE/CS professionals in the SF Bay Area brought about by Nanotechnology.  We hold monthly seminars on Nanotechnology given by leading personalities from industry, academia, and government.  We plan our first one day Annual Conference in May 2005.
