Charles Mee is an IEEE member, IEEE PES member, and a volunteer in the IEEE SF PES Chapter for the past four years. Mr. Mee served the IEEE SF PES Chapter as Secretary in 2013 and as Treasurer in 2014. Mr. Mee has more than 20 years of experience in the electric power industry and is currently serving as a Senior Utilities Engineer with the Office of Ratepayer Advocates at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). His work at the CPUC includes transmission, distribution, generator interconnection, smart grid and micro-grid, renewable integration, demand response, energy storage, and rate making. From 2002 to 2010, Mr. Mee worked as a Senior Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer with the California Department of Water Resources. He worked on the California power market, transmission planning, transmission contracts and transmission rates. Prior to that, Mr. Mee worked as an Electric Power Engineer in China. Mr. Mee graduated from Tsinghua University with a B.S. Degree in Electric Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California. Mr. Mee believes that as engineers, we need not only to be the prime movers in advancing our society, but also to be synchronized with the ever-changing world.
