Section & Chapters News - 2008
  IEEE has named San Francisco as the host city for IEEE Section Congress in 2011 upon recommendation by SCV Section.  The SCV Section will do its best to prepare the Congress in cooperation with other two sections in San Francisco Bay Area Council as the host.

  The 2008 Officers Training was held by San Francisco Bay Area Council on February 23.

  The SCV EDS chapter was awarded 2007 Chapter of the Year by IEEE Electron Devices Society.

  The SCV LEOS chapter was awarded 2007 Chapter of the Year by IEEE Lasers & Electro-Optics Society.

  The SCV Section was the winner of the IEEE-USA 2007 Membership Development Incentive Program and received the award check from IEEE.

  The IEEE San Francisco Bay Area Council held a Volunteer Recognition Banquet, featuring a presentation by Grant Imahara, on March 31, 2007 at San Mateo Marriott in appreciation of the work from all bay area member volunteers that make the bay area the most dynamic and active community in the world for engineering professionals.
