In this talk, based on a music database architecture, various music representations, indexing schemes and query processing strategies will be presented. Music feature extraction and performance measures will be also introduced.
Arbee L.P. Chen received a PhD in computer engineering from University of Southern California in 1984. He worked at System Development Corporation and Bellcore before he joined National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan in 1990. He was the chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Dong Hwa University from 2001 to 2004. Since 2004, he becomes a Chengchi University Chair Professor at National Chengchi University. Dr. Chen organized IEEE Data Engineering Conference in Taiwan in 1995. He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University during winter/summer breaks since 2003.
